To Start…

This is will only be a blog to pass the time. Sometimes it involves updates of daily culture, art, fashion, film, literature, politics, or myself and the occasional guest. Trying to post everyday is something that will be strived for, and along with it will normally be an album/song/myspace to check out. To begin,

1. Annie Hall, a film by Woody Allen

I figured a good way to start a blog was to post something that I love and admire, that being the film Annie Hall. A film by and for the great Woody Allen. As with nearly every Woody Allen film, whether writing, directing, or starring in; it his himself more often than not being portrayed. In Annie Hall, the issue of love and relationships is sought out. Probably the best film for anyone seeking consolation in themselves and their relationships, or lack thereof. A great closing point to describe the film is the original name of the film. As a working title, Woody Allen chose an often used Psychological term called Anhedonia (If you are a Woody Allen fan, it’s not hard to see considering all the many references to Freud and numerous other authors, psychologists, and philosophers). It is a Greek meaning for the inability to experience pleasure. In the end, the studios could not find a way to describe the meaning when advertising so insisted on changing the name. Reluctantly, he chose to change it to the leading lady’s name…Annie Hall. I won’t say anymore, but to rent it, buy it, download it, etc and enjoy.
