This is a bit late by other blogs standards, and more than half I assume most readers have delved into once or twice from grade school to the present. However, here’s The Art Of Manliness’ (The go-to site for classic know-how from the elder’s wisdom of life) guide to the 100 Must-Read Books. There’s a lot of incredible works listed, and I like how a short description and short quote is given on nearly each. I’ve added quite a bit from the site to my personal list of must-read literature. There’s knowledge to be had for the young and old; don’t let it pass you by.
My particular favorite quote featured is from The Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith:
It is not from the benevolence of the butcher, the brewer or the baker, that we expect our dinner, but from their regard to their own self interest. We address ourselves, not to their humanity but to their self-love, and never talk to them of our own necessities but of their advantages.”
